March 17th…

Being as St. Patrick was neither a saint, or Irish and probably didn’t have a damn thing to do with snakes it is time to change the celebration. Miles would like to institute Saint Gertrude of Nevilles day. The main reason is that dear Gertrude is the patron saint for cats! She was so cool that she is also the Patron of Gardeners. We kitties suspect that Gertrude probably planted Catnip.

No self respecting Kitty is about to drink green beer anyway. The jury is out about Corned Beef and Cabbage. Catnip on the other paw is awesome. Miles the Ninja Cats favorite is Meowie Wowie.

What Makes a NinjaCat…

忍者猫

“NinjaCat” in Kanji

While there is scant historical record it is believed that NinjaCats first appeared in Japan during and after the period of the Shogunate. It is said that NinjaCats were kept by the Samurai. Unlike the way Samurai used Ninjas to do the jobs that were supposedly without Bushido, (honor) NinjaCats were highly revered pets not only for the tendency of black cats to be loving, loyal and great mousers, but for the NinjaCat’s other characteristics…

About CatJutsu: CatJutsu is the ancient Japanese of Being. CatJutsu could be a deadly martial art if the cat’s other (more dominant art) wasn’t CatNapsu, the ancient Japanese art of just plain being a cat. Both CatJutsu & CatNapsu have their roots in even more ancient, CatYoga. There are several Catas practiced in CatJutsu, most involve forms used in stalking and capturing prey then playing with the captive. This is normally followed by the CatNapsu Cata form involving curling up and taking a nap.

The primary weapon of NinjaCats are the NinjaCat’s KittyClaws. [Zoë’s KittyClaws are deadly according to The Man] While real Ninja had metal claws that they had to bind to their hands, NinjaCats KittyClaws are just a natural part of being a cat.

FreeRange NinjaCat

NinjaCats are a rare find. This photo is of Miles NinjaCat when he was a FreeRange NinjaCat. Not all NinjaCats are black but that is probably the dominant color. Being a NinjaCat is more of an an attitude. Dare I say maybe a Cattitude? NinjaCats are (almost) always on guard, watching for interlopers; other cats intruding on their territory, lizards carelessly wandering into their Cattio, birdies unaware or even the NinjaCat’s fellow Kitty roommates. Sometimes even The Man himself is prone to a NinjaCat attack…

NinjaCat’s can be a pain to live with. My earsies get bit frequently, Zoë gets chased around the house. Most times NinjaCats can be loving and nap right next to us. Zoë complains that in the morning, (before The Man is fully awake) when she tries to curl up against him to have KittyCuddle time that Miles the NinjaCat comes right up between she and The Man and doesn’t try to make her move, he just wants be be a part of KittyCuddle time. This usually doesn’t end well…

Meet Miles the Ninja Cat. He’s Secretly Amazing!

This is Miles. Yeah, in this photo he’s cute with his little pink KittyTongue sticking out. He looks pretty harmless but looks are deceiving… I’ll introduce myself, AprilKitty shortly but this is a blog about Miles the Ninja Cat. He is truly secretly amazing!

Miles the Ninja Cat looking cute

Hi! I am April!

I am the KittyGirl who will be telling the world about the exploits of Miles the Ninja Cat [a.k.a. MtNC] Miles is a P.I.T.A… You know, a Pain in The A@@. My KittyButt. We all live with The Man, that’s what we call him anyway.

Me looking like a watercolor.

The Man made us a new CatPatio…

The old CatPatio was pretty ghetto. We loved being able to get sun and watch all the wildlife; FlyBirdies, Godzilla the Lizzard and his cousins, and the FreeRange Kitties. The Man is still working on it. He will make some KittyPlatforms and adjust the walls so we have better views. The Man’s girlfriend, Melissa helped out both with construction and funding. The Man’s friend Rick helped finish the roof.

Tails of Other Cats

Sometimes The Man shows me photos of Kitties he sees out in the world. Some are FreeRangeKitties and some have people. I’ll share the interesting ones here.

FancyCat

The Man was in someplace called Washington. The Man used to live there. They have green plants and trees without thorns, grass and even moss! The Man was walking along and saw this FancyKitty being transported by this CatLady. Does this FancyCat think he is a Prince? Honestly, I want The Man to get me one of these.

Miles the NinjaCat!

NinjaCat!

Miles is now truly a NinjaCat thanks to The Man’s friend Jack. Jack is the CoolDude who gives us TunaFishy when he comes over to feed us when The Man is gone. Thanks Jack!

The Man

Hi! I’m The Man. This is a photo of AprilKitty and me. I just thought I’d drop in and introduce myself. Despite what AprilKitty says the house is really mine. Really!

Hidden Ninja Cat

Miles hiding in the window box

Miles the Ninja Cat was trying to hide in the window box over the kitchen sink. He thinks he is truly sneaky but he’s just a poser. Like in this photo where he’s posing for The Man.

Hiding Out…

Trying to hide from The Ninja Cat

It isn’t easy living with a Ninja Cat. Here I’m trying to hide out from Miles. He loves to chase me and Zoë and bite our little earseys.
